Around 200 politicians and civil servants have their offices in this building. The City Hall of Stockholm is one of the most beautiful and well known buildings in the world and the most exclusive ballroom in Stockholm, frequently used for e.g. the yearly Nobel Banquet. Behind the brick walls, several different activities take place. The City Hall is known for its hospitality, its unique art treasures, magnificent banquettes and an intriguing history attracting close to 400,000 visitors a year. In the City Hall of Stockholm civil marriage can be arranged. Guided tours of the City Hall Welcome to experience one of Sweden's most interesting and impressive buildings with a guided tour! Tours are available daily in Swedish and English at 10am and 12noon for individuals with no advance reservation, all the year round. During certain periods of the year tours are available more frequently and also in other languages. Since the only way to visit City Hall is by taking part in a guided tour, the City Hall does not have general opening hours, but is only open for visitors when there is a guided tour. If there are more than 10 people in your group it is necessary to book a private guide, since the number of tickets to the public tours is limited. The guided tour takes approximately 45 minutes and goes through the official part of the City Hall, for example to the Blue Hall and the Golden Hall, from a historical, architectural and cultural point of view. In addition to the guided tours arranged by City Hall’s own staff, authorized Stockholm guides are allowed to bring tour groups into the premises. If you have a group that is interested in having your own guided tour of City Hall you can book a private tour. Groups of more than 10 people must have a guide of their own since the number of tickets for public tours is limited. Private tours are primarily conducted in Swedish or English but it’s possible to arrange private tours in other languages as well - please ask. Private guided tours are conducted daily, during daylight hours from Monday to Sunday.
